Torchwood America?!?

If you thought the idea of an American version of Being Human was a bad idea (I did. I do), how about a US Torchwood? Made by Fox of all people.

At the moment it’s only a rumour, no deal has been signed. However Fox are reported to be interested in making a US version of Torchwood. Clearly Torchwood America won’t be satisfied with provincial little plots but will be jetting around dealing with a “global storyline”.

One tiny crumb of comfort is that if it happens the new show is likely to be written by Russell T. Davies and include Julie Gardner on the production team. John Barrowman could even be along for the ride as Captain Jack.

Even so, the pressure to succumb to US TV style would be massive. And if a US Torchwood was worth watching it would probably be cancelled mid season.
