Doctor Who: The E-Space Trilogy

December 5th, 2008 Posted in BBC, Doctor Who | no comments

The BBC Doctor Who restoration team have announced details of the forthcoming E-Space Trilogy DVD release.

The box set consists of three consecutive Tom Baker stories from the classic era: Full Circle, State of Decay and Warriors’ Gate. The Exo-Space story arc includes the arrival of Adric (boo) and the departure of K9 and Romana (hooray). The DVD release was apparently pretty straightforward in restoration terms so the team have been able to concentrate on assembling a large set of bonus extras.

I’m really looking forward to this because Warriors’ Gate was one of my favourite stories. Many people found it difficult and or too weird but I’ve always liked the somewhat surreal elements. The whiteness of Warrior’s Gate is reminiscent of episode one of The Mind Robber, also one of my favourite stories.
