Timelord in Tweed: Matt Smith’s Costume Revealed
Filming begins today on Smith’s first series of Doctor Who and the BBC News photo here shows him on set with companion Amy Pond (Karen Gillan). The BBC describes his costume as: “tweed jacket, bow tie, rolled up trousers and black boots”. Could a bow tie become the “must have” male fashion accessory of 2010? John Barrowman Defies Death in Car Crash
Barrowman was filming a segment for the Channel Five driving program Fifth Gear. He and the show’s presenter Tiff Needell were rally driving in a £120,000 Subaru with Barrowman at the wheel. According to reports, Barrowman lost control of the car which flipped over four times and just missed going into a lake. Paramedics pulled Needell and Barrowman from the car and removed some shattered glass from the Torchwood star’s eye before he was sent to hospital. Barrowman is reportedly fine with no damage to his famous good looks. However he did receive a “ticking off” from his mum. The crash will be shown on tonight’s edition of Fifth Gear. |

The first picture has emerged of the eleventh Doctor Matt Smith in costume.
John Barrowman – best known as Captain Jack Harkness in Torchwood – seems to have picked up some of the death defying skills of his character. According to newspaper reports he survived a high speed car crash with little more than minor injuries.
