With Merlin Series 2 currently in production, word has been leaking out about the special guest stars who’ll be joining the regular cast.
Mackenzie Crook is probably best known for his roles in The Office and the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. He is to appear as a “creepy” character attempting to usurp Merlin’s position at court.
Also on the guest list are Adrian Lester (Hustle and Bonekickers), Sarah Parish (Cutting It) and the great veteran actor Charles Dance as Aredian the witchfinder.
Johnny Capps of production company Shine TV said:
We’re thrilled to be producing another series of Merlin for the BBC. It’s going to be bigger, bolder and more action-packed than ever, with great new villains, white knuckle fight sequences and hilarious comic fun for the whole family to enjoy
Series two of Merlin will be broadcast this autumn, the BBC haven’t yet announced exact dates.

The BBC has now officially announced the broadcast dates for the long awaited Torchwood: Children of Earth (COE) mini-series. Well, sort of.
COE is listed as part of the BBC1 schedule for Week 27: 4th to 10th July. The show is described as “unplaced” which means the exact air dates and times haven’t yet been released.
But we can have a good guess as to when it’ll be on. The Beeb have already said they plan to show COE over five consecutive days and the episodes are named “Day 1″ through to “Day 5″, so one a day from Monday to Friday seems most likely. As to time, it’ll almost certainly be post-watershed which means after 9PM. If each episode is an hour long, showing at 9 would slot in nicely with news at ten. However sports and current affairs could shift the timing.
So my money’s on Torchwood: Children of Earth being shown on BBC1 Mon 6th July to Fri 10th July, probably at 21:00 nightly.
