Paterson Joseph the Next Doctor Who?

The web is buzzing today with rumours that Paterson Joseph is on the verge of being announced as the new Doctor Who to take over from David Tennant.

Paterson Joseph

Joseph is currently starring in the BBC remake of Survivors and played the smarmy villain Benjamin in Jekyll. Apart from that I know very little about him.

There’s nothing official yet, however the rumours seem fairly well founded. In particular it seems as if one of Joseph’s co-stars in Survivors said rather too much in an interview:

Rupert Penry-Jones Will Not Be The Next Doctor

Adam Carter

Add another one to the list of actors who will not be following David Tennant into the Tardis. The Mirror reports Rupert Penry-Jones (Adam Carter in Spooks) as ruling himself out of the role.

The Mirror quotes Penry-Jones as saying he hasn’t been asked to play The Doctor and wouldn’t be happy with the role. Apparently he wouldn’t want to take over a role from someone else again and prefers to stick with original characters.
