Primeval Back From The Dead

It seems that ITV has listened to all the Primeval fans who complained – on this site and elsewhere – about the series being cancelled. A deal has now been struck to allow series four and five to go ahead with the return of cast members Andrew Lee Potts, Jason Fleming and Hannah Spearritt.
Primeval has been rescued thanks to a co-production deal with BBC Worldwide (BBCW) and ProSeiben of Germany. Helen Jackson of BBCW said:
There was a real desire between all partners to make this project succeed and to bring Primeval back from the brink of extinction. BBC Worldwide’s increased investment in the title is a reflection of our belief in the quality of the whole production and its international appeal.
Series 4 of Primeval is now due to air on ITV1 in early 2011. Series 5 will be shown first on digital channel Watch then later on ITV1. There will be a total of 13 new episodes split between the two seasons.

Well thank god they listened. Okay it’s a somtimes corny show but that gives you a reprieve while all the scary stuff is going on. I wasn’t sure I was going to continue watching and then there was the episode with Jason Fleming. I’ve liked him since I first saw him in Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. Like is voice. Very sexy. Well at least for me it is. Love Pottsy and Annie too.

Thanks god! I had just got done watching the series one-two-and three not long back. It was odd, I’d thought they were most likely airing the 4th season while I finished up the third on DVD. Instead I thought they’d canceled it, but good to know that BBC will be reviving it. To bad we will have to wait a a few months for it though. Better late then never!

thank GOD i’ve just found out that series 4 will indeed go ahead, i’d been waiting over a year to see trailers for it and when i didn’t see any started to investigate why. Then i found out that ITV had cancelled it’s plans for a fourth series and it thought that had to be one of the most PATHETIC things i had EVER heard of. PRIMEEVIL is ONLY ABOUT THE BEST DRAMA SERIES ITV HAS PUT ON EVER!!!!!!!! so thank goodness SOME ONE in the POWERS THAT BE, finally came back to their senses.

Primeval via BBCAmerica is popular here in the States, as well. I find it hard to imagine how such a popular series could not find funding to continue.
Must admit that I miss Hannah Spearritt . . .
