Survivors Series 2
The BBC has announced that it has commissioned a second series of Survivors by Adrian Hodges.

Series one is due to finish tomorrow (Tuesday 23rd) and has achieved average viewing figures of 5.9 million. There will be six episodes of series two broadcast in 2009.
I have to say I’m in two minds about this. The new Survivors has turned out much better than I expected and I’ve really enjoyed it. However it looks as if the final episode of series is due to tie together some loose ends, so what’s left for a second series? Let’s hope Hodges avoids the mistakes of the original show from the 1970s where a great first series rapidly went downhill into soap opera.
The announcement doesn’t talk about casting for the new series. This may be to avoid spoiling any surprises due for the final episode. Or it may be connected with the rumours that Paterson Joseph (Greg) is front runner to be the new Doctor Who. It seems unlikely that he’d be doing both shows at the same time.
