BBC3 Clone: From Bad to Worse

December 2nd, 2008 Posted in BBC | no comments

When Clone began on BBC3 I was in two minds about it, however I thought it had potential and decided to give it a chance.

Now I’ve given it up. After three episodes I simply can’t stand any more.

I had hoped that the show would turn into a rather surreal satire of modern life based around subtle observational humour. Instead it’s descended rapidly into a mess of puerile humour with social observation on a level with My Parents Are Aliens (which, incidentally, is cleverer and funnier).

Even by the low standards of BBC3 comedy Clone is very, very poor. This is the sort of thing that gives sitcoms a bad name.
