Mission 2110: Kids vs Roboidz on CBBC
A long running hit for children’s TV channel CBBC has been the award-winning Raven series of adventure game shows. In these a group of kids compete to complete various tasks in a fantasy setting. Now the team behind Raven is putting together a science fiction version of the same concept: Mission 2110.
The new show is set in a post-apocalyptic future where Earth has been taken over by “intelligent towering cybernetic entities” called Roboidz. Contestants need to battle against the Roboidz and snatch their Bio-Rods from Future Base.
The back story for Mission 2110 has been created by Phil Ford who wrote Doctor Who Dreamland. The young contestants will be guided in their missions by Caleb, played by Stuart Goldsmith. Lindsay Duncan will voice both Neuros and Cybele, the good and evil alter-egos of Roboidz’ creator Laura Gant.
Mission 2110 is currently filming near Loch Striven and the show is due to be broadcast on CBBC in the spring.
